About Me

I am an interdisciplinary artist who prides myself as a wife and mother of three amazing children. I set art aside for twenty years to enjoy the fleeting moments of their childhood. Now that the time is right, I have been building my portfolio and exploring new mediums. All my hard work is paying off and I can happily add award winning 2D and 3D artist to my credit.

From the Beginning

Regina Free is an interdisciplinary artist based in Newkirk, OK. Her college years were spent interweaving artistic desires and athletic aspirations. In 1997, this effort culminated with her completion of a Bachelor of Studio Arts Degree and a successful softball career with honors from Oklahoma State University. Regina works with graphite, watercolor, ink, colored pencils, and frequently merges mediums. She has dedicated the last 20 years to her family. Since her children are older, she’s worked on revitalizing her portfolio. Regina has also added oil painting, ceramics, and Mixed media Sculpture to her list of ambitions. This hard work has paid off resulting in awards sprinkled throughout the media. The graphite piece, “Skull with Mannequin,” received honorable mention during the 2023 Mark Arts Abstract National Competition. Another graphite piece, “Skull with Stool,” was published in Artist Magazine Special Winter Edition 2025. “Self-Portrait,” a mixed media ink and colored pencil piece, was finalist in the Masters of Equine Art International Juried Art Exhibition. Her watercolor of a Pueblo Enchantment Dancer received honorable mention in the 2025 Women in watercolor International juried competition. Not to be outdone her 3D work collected Best of Show during all three of the Chickasaw Nations Art markets. This momentum was building toward the honor of a lifetime when “Windswept,” a mixed media life-sized bison sculpture, won Best of Show during the 2025 Santa Fe Indian Market. Not one to rest, Regina is back in the studio, working toward whatever the future holds.
